Welcome to my 2018 GT PP build thread! I've been a long time Mustang owner and a fan of the S550 platform ever since the 2015 launch. When Ford announced the release of the 2018 S550, I knew it was time to sell my 2005 GT and finally upgrade.

I placed my order for a 2018 GT PP 10-Speed with the 401A package and Recaros back in August 2017 and joined the delivery waiting game (seemed like forever!). After checking COTUS way too much, I finally took delivery the last week in January - I can tell you it was well worth the wait!

I've got big plans for this car and am currently solidifying the boost setup in addition to the suspension setup.

Here's a photo from the day I picked it up! Will post updates in respective individual posts within the thread.

The 10-speed is too much fun, but I was looking for a subtle upgrade to the stock paddle shifters. I found just that with the Leyo Motorsport paddle shifter extensions - I initially wanted them in red anodized, but ended up settling on the black anodized option. Happy with them for sure and the paddles are much easier to reach.

Of course an oil separator was immediately top of mind, so I gave Vinny@JLTPerformance a call to setup the order for the JLT V3 oil separator. Shipping was super quick and Vinny’s customer service was amazing. Install was a breeze!

Can't drive around in a fishbowl! So, tint was up next! My buddy Anthony over at Independent Wraps took care of me. While I was there, he installed Glassparency on the windshield which has hydrophobic properties and does a really good job of repelling water. You can essentially drive around without the wipers for about 3 years as long as you apply a maintenance coat every few months.

It didn't take long to get used to the sound of the stock exhaust, especially since the '18 is my daily driver. I put in hours and hours of research looking for the ideal exhaust setup (thanks YouTube) - in a nutshell: angry when I want it to be, tame when I want it to be, with zero drone.

I decided on the AWE Touring Cat-Back after an in-depth conversation with Josh/AWE. I was initially leaning towards the Track edition but after hearing that the Touring edition has their "180 Technology" that promises zero drone, I knew I had to give it a shot.

Fit and finish definitely surpassed my expectations! There's even a little surprise in the exhaust tip box haha. Speaking of which, I chose the polished exhaust tips and they do offer a black option as well. From what I know I was the first customer to install the Touring cat-back on an '18 GT.

Here are some photos from the unboxing and installation. The exhaust tech was very impressed with the quality of the kit and when he started it up for the first time post-install, couldn't wipe the grin off my face haha. The setup fills out the rear valance perfectly IMO.

Here you can hear the difference between the stock exhaust and the AWE Touring cat-back exhaust - warm start, 3K revs, 5K revs (next up will be in-car and out-of-car clips):
