Small update

Installed a "Shelby GT" style spoiler I snagged at Carlisle for $75! Got it from CJ Pony. Almost bought a 350 style bumper they had for sale too.... Unfortunately what stopped me was the fact that it would not fit in the mustang!

In other news, I have a left front suspension creak/pop that has developed. Will be going with Ford Performance front control arms when I install my lowering springs to hopefully remedy the problem. Also have a CEL due to a bad downstream O2 Sensor on bank 2. Have that to fix now too...

Well this just adds a whole new dynamic to where this project was headed... Only 40k miles on the car....

What are we looking at here? Metal flakes I presume? What does this mean?

Yep. That large flake in the last pic is a piece of a bearing.... Not sure what's going on since I have no other symptoms but for a 40k car with multiple oil changes the oil should not shavings. Previous oil change was fine as well so it happened between the last change and now.

Soo it's possible a oil passage got clogged temporary and has since reopened or oil flow is still restricted and a bearing will be letting go soon...

Do they cover that under warranty now or is only once the engine dies? You've got another 20k for the powertrain warranty at least.

Got a tune on it so it's likely going to be a battle if I go to them.

Hey, I have an idea for your car (thinking about doing it to mine)

CJ pony parts sells a shelby turn signal/foglight combination (https://www.cjponyparts.com/shelby-...-light-kit-v6-ecoboost-gt-2015-2017/p/FGLA68/).

The idea is to install that, get the stock non-fog light trim piece, cut out the part below the turn signal housing, and install a mesh grill...thinking about doing it to my car, but wanted to see what you think of the idea (and possibly work with me on designing a grill that would fit).

Sounds like you are having a lot of fun with this build.

It has been done by a member on this forum already and it looks pretty darn good.

Dont know the link. I think search custom grille or DIY grille. Here is the photos from the member. I had them saved to my phone for reference when I thought of doing it myself at one point.

Front view. He used the same mesh in the grille delete kit. Dremeled and cut out the backside of the plastic area leaving the contour piece and add the mesh.
