Join Mustang Club of America for the 'X-plan' like benefits on the paperwork. It's not the full X-plan and anyway x-plan pricing on the car is hardly a good deal.

no. some companies (eg. mine, not remotely automotive related) offer X-plan (or was it A-plan) to their employees as a perk, and you print out your certificate and hand it to the dealer which runs the auth code thru Ford's system to validate.

adding a data point. I picked up 2020 400A kona blue, A10, Black Accent, and Ford Safe & Smart for 38,323.24 OTD, Houston area. MSRP with freight was 44,665. Using the above formula I get 0.88; my ugly duck. There was a gray one I got to a similar price, prefer the blue.

actually once you control for sales tax (6.25%) it's 0.8 of MSRP A damn righteous deal! What were the rebates in force? Oh wait, you had 3000 on rebates I bet. So yes the dealer discount was 12%

I think it was 2750 or 3250 in rebates. I was happy with the price, the gray one another dealer with one less option. They did use ford financing to get to the price on the one I bought, input 50% down. I'll either pay the rest off or refi with the CU.

I think you can do it. First go to the ford search link and see if there are any cars in your desired traveling distance that meet your specs. If you find a few contact those dealers and start making offers. I bought a PP1 a10 premium fully loaded in December. There were 4 within 150 miles of me and I started dealing on 3 of them. By the time we were done I got to within $500 of my lowest offer. Link to search site below.

It's possible, but you'll have to really look for it. I just bought my 2020 GT Premium, 401a package, active exhaust, HD Stereo, 20 in wheels, 10 spd auto for just under 42k OTD. Traded in my 2015 GT Premium for it.

Like I said, with the GT Performance Package you can't get the 20" wheels.
