Can someone please explain how the Base R in Shadow Black (most produced color), modified WITH higher mileage sold for $14k over the rarer, unmolested and lower mileage Base R in Race Red ?
Yes the SB is a year newer but I still don't get it.

I think it was just a fluke honestly. Sometimes that happens in auctions. The going rate has been around 90k for a low mileage Base R before these two came up for sale. So one hit right on and the other was just a anomaly.

Perhaps the stigma about 16s maybe having more issues than 17s?
Wha wha what? I've heard and seen that 16s were solid. I had one and it was exceptional. I dont recall hearing about issues of 16s around here, but then the '17 MY came along.

I’m right there with you. Mine has 390 miles. I don’t think it’s far off from that in reality. There were three bidders going at it.

What a crazy auction. Was really fun to watch. Let's all have a drink tonight!

New record for R's right here. 171K

200k is coming....
At $200K come pick it up out of the drive

Hell, 3k miles on my 2019R and I would let it go for a measly $110k in a heart beat. Even comes with a Ford Premium ESP good until 1/4/28.

Mine has 6K miles but it seems like I need to start driving it less. At this rate, I think there is going to be real value to holding on and waiting another 5-10 years. If it turns out that these 350s are the last manual NA Shelby with the Voodoo V8 + Ford goes electric -- I don't see how low mileage R models can't command $350K+ in a decade.

I know it's not good to be worried about future value and to just drive and enjoy the car but this last auction was head turning for me to consider driving it much less (I'm willing to hear counter arguments. lol.) I bought a 2022 Civic Hatchback in Jan -- yes, that's a funny/odd complement to this car-- but I'm not rich and it's a half decent ride for $0 down $340 per month all in.

16 Tech packs, not 16 Rs and the gen one was common between 15 to 18. 16s were not worse, no better.

My Tech pack had the coolers :)

This is exactly what’s gonna happen if these prices keep going up.

I had a civic si back in 08-09. I used it as a commuter. It was a great car, and surprisingly fun to drive. I think it’s a prudent move with what these cars are bringing and going to bring. I’m very fortunate to have another 350 to enjoy. I had bought a color matched cage and harness set up for my Hepr. Still new in the box’s. I’m not installing those now. And I’m sure I’ll get shxt for this, but I’m not going to put the car on the track either.

I wouldn't. Use your 350. Buy some eBay fixer upper cf wheels on eBay, a wing and splitter. Close enough for practical purposes.

For the same reason, my base R will not see the track either.
