Unfortunately, given the move to TX, I don't have the time nor tools to complete an oil change myself.

Has anyone paid a dealership to change their oil for them? If so, how much did you pay?

For the DIYers out there, how much did it cost in parts to do it yourself?

Thanks! :ford:

Given the 10 quarts of oil it takes, it's pretty costly. If you want Motorcraft, that's about $10/quart x 10, plus $15 for the filter. $115 in parts.

I'm probably going to change up to Amsoil though based on everyone's reviews of that oil. I think cost is roughly the same though?

I think it's about $135 at the dealership. I changed my own so I could use amsoil but with shipping etc plus filter I spent $135 anyway.

If you go the dealership route, look into Flood fords prepaid maintenance, works out to $100~ an oil change, and it includes consumables like clutch disc, brake pads, etc to boot.

I have never been a fan of prepaid maintenance plans but for the price of an oil change on this car it may be worth it. Which of the Flood Ford plans are people buying ? I need to educate myself on those plans.

I bought the 5 year 75k ESP premium plan and 5 year 7,500 mile interval maintenance plan. Total price was about 2,400 and I'll have no expenses for five years. I'll likely only keep the car about 3 years but figured one brake job and 1 out of warranty repair and I'm even once you figure in the "free" oil changes.

You contract works out to about $40 a month if you keep the car for 5 yrs and $ 66 a month of you sell it at 3 yrs.

I dont know but on a brand new car with a factory 3 yr warranty I would seriously doubt you would spend $66 a month on maintenance that would otherwise be covered by your factory warranty.

Do these plans run concurrently with the 3 yr 36 K mile factory warranty ?

If so kinda seem like a waste for the first 3 years .

I guess i am not factoring in the oil changes but that depends on how much you drive it.

At the dealer it was $10 a quart, plus $25 for the filter, $10 for tax/labor or whatever, It was free for my first oil change but they gave me the receipt of what it would be anyway

Just be careful if you take it anywhere and it's a good idea to check their work. Had mine changed at Ford Dealership by the certified Shelby mechanic. Haven't been driving it much since the oil change, but after some spirited driving yesterday I got home only to find oil leaking from the filter. Lost enough to be toward the bottom of the stick. Glad I came home when I did because the filter was a full turn off the gasket and leaking a solid stream. Dodged a bullet for sure!

I think $130 was about what I paid. Given that that's only about $20 for labor and clean up, such a deal. I tend to drop off the car, have lunch with the wife and sometimes my son... good times and Lucy is ready to roll!

I'm with you as long as they do the clean up part... which they forgot to do with mine. I got a nice little puddle on my garage floor with the oil that was in the plastic underside belly leaking out.

Didn't you have the car towed to the dealership? Did they find out who the heck did that to your car?
