I've heard a rumor that the GT350 might get the GT500's transmission......The A10 GT PP1 is as fast as the M6 GT350R in a straight line because of the 10-speed transmission even though it has less power. Also, note that the GT350 is slightly slower than the R because less traction and it is 100 lbs heavier than the R.
Car and Driver tested the A10 GT PP1: 0-60 in 3.8 seconds; 1/4 mile in 12.1 @ 119 mph
Motor trend tested the A10 GT PP1: 0-60 in 3.9 seconds; 1/4 mile in 12.1 @ 118.8 mph
Motor Trend tested the GT350R and got 0-60 in 3.9 seconds; 1/4 mile in 12.1 @ 119.6 mph
Hotrod ran the A10 GT PP1 in 11.83 @ 119.5 mph.
Now, if only Ford offered the A10 in the GT350R, based on the fact that the A10 GT is literally 1/2 second faster to 60 and in the 1/4 mile than the M6 version, I estimate the GT350R with the A10 would run: 0-60 in 3.5 seconds, 1/4 mile in 11.7 @ 123 mph. It would be a very fast accelerating car with an A10.
That would be bad assI've heard a rumor that the GT350 might get the GT500's transmission......
But hey, it's the internet so who knows.
Please no, that would be a disaster. The GT350 should be left as a drivers car with stick onlyI've heard a rumor that the GT350 might get the GT500's transmission......

They're not drag cars. There are a couple of GT350s that often come to the street legal drags where I run. I think it takes a pretty good pilot to get the most out of them. They have a tendency to bog if not launched really hard. Yet when launched really hard, they wheel hop like mad. In the hot summer time at my track, they are typically in the mid 12s.
At my track, they run autocross and the street legal drags on the same night. It is $25 for whichever one you want to do. I would EXPECT the GT350 guys to do the autocross event. Yet, they often do the drag strip instead. I agree that the GT350s are out of their comfort zone on the drag strip. They're not drag cars.
Seriously, I just don't understand that. GT350s are for road courses, the track, not the strip.
I'm starting to think that going to the strip is about 1/10th the cost of going to a track. It's gotta be.
Wait.......that's it, isn't it?? Going to the strip is cheap, and going to the track for the day is 10x more $$!!! Tires, brakes, fees, insurance, etc., etc.
Pretty much the same for the MT82 GT’s. I experienced the bog, spin and wheel hop like crazy on all of my passes. There are a couple of GT350s that often come to the street legal drags where I run. Assuming the PP2 doesn't overheat and the GT350 has enough oil, its a drivers race at most tracks.Hey thanks guys. How much faster is a GT350 than a PP2 on a road course?
Lee.

Very funny. The posers and those obsessed with quarter mile times have plenty of choice with other models - the GT350 should be left as a pure drivers car. Not to mention having to paddle shift 10 gears would drive me crazy.Yes and you also need a manual choke, solid lifters, no AC, and 11mpg. LOL I have had all of that in 1955 Ford.
