Power Socket From Battery

Hey Team,

Am I correct in saying that neither of the 12v sockets (1 in front of the shifter and 1 inside the center compartment) are connected to the battery i.e. the ACC need to be turned on?

It depends. Seriously. According to the FSM for my 2015 power to those sockets can be hot at all times or it can be shut off depending on the system which shuts off loads including those sockets to reduce battery drain. If you need them to be hot at all times simply pull the relay and jumper between 3 and 5. I did this for a data acquisition system in my 2015. The first year I owned the car the sockets never lost power. Then they would lose power randomly based on battery charge level and ???. I researched the FSM and found the easy button solution.

NOTE: Those sockets are the only loads powered through that relay.

They time out to stop the battery from going dead. Example, you plug your phone charger in, park the car at the airport, come back a week later, you want the car to start, so the BCM turns of the socket.

Boy - this solution is ALOT easier than what I typically have to do; run a dedicated power feeder from the battery to the socket! Thanks for the answer AND the photocopies!
