Grill warriors assemble! It’s currently 0 degrees with a minus 15 wind chill but I’m out there! Merry Christmas!

Looks awesome, hope you enjoy! My end pieces ended up on top and I have to get those medium well for my wife which is more done than I prefer. The middle was sliced at 145 degrees, a nice medium. Could cut it with just a fork it was so tender.

I can’t take any credit for this but I thought it was worth posting :like:

Mum (coming up on 73) still insists on cooking Christmas dinner for children and grandchildren (13 of us). Dad (83) just gets to set the table and do the drinks, mum prefers to be in the kitchen alone.

They both do incredibly well. Consider that they’ve been back in the U.K. for less than a week following a Florida theme park holiday and wedding where we we’re getting 18k steps per day out of them !

Everything you see is home cooked unless otherwise noted :sunglasses:

My starter (flatbread is bought) :

There was a third piece of meat in reserve, but it wasn’t needed :

Meat is always carved by me, very difficult to do on the main joint due to the layer of stuffing and bacon :

Redeemed myself a little on this one :

My plate :

The roasties are done with garlic and rosemary. The stuffing at one o’clock is made with sausage meat.

The table also had sprouts, a pea / mushroom / smoked bacon rind mix along with cauliflower / broccoli cheese mix.

Two of the home cooked deserts - tiramisu and chocolate tart :

My choice :

Home made mince pies :

Mum also makes a rich fruit Christmas cake which we normally cut at new year :

Today made Challah bread. Came out super soft. Almost like Brioche. Only thing I did differently was I used bread flour instead of bleached/unbleached and kneaded it using my stand mixer. The recipe calls for 8 cups of flour, so once I gotten the dough into a shaggy shape, I divided the dough ball into half and placed them in the stand mixer one by one as my mixer can’t handle a big 8 cup dough ball. Once they were both smooth I combined them back together Also I always add honey to the egg wash so it adds a sweetness to every bite.
