Grilled some chicken legs and chicken wings for the game. My wife made baked potato soup with the insides of the potatoes I scooped for potato skins. Will post those pics after I get them out of the oven

Hood = Bonnet
Trunk = Boot
Fender = Wing
Rocker = Sill
Headers = Manifold
Resonator = Silencer
Muffler = Silencer
Half shafts = Drive shafts
Wrench = Spanner
Gas = Petrol
Aluminum = Aluminium :giggle:
Heel = Crust ...

Hang on now. Are you calling a crepe, a "shrove"?

Well fuck me, pardon the language. Those look amazing. A little bit of chicken Panzanella tonight turned out good.

Gonna be a long post, gotta get something off my chest.

Dinner tonight, I butchered a whole sirloin tip, I was vacuum sealing all the steaks and leftover grind to throw in the freezer.

My 13 year old son had a friend over. Wife comes inside from the backyard where they all were, she tells me his friend probably won't get fed tonight. He lives with his grandmother, several neighborhoods away and rode his bike over here. Apparently when he stays out late, his grandmother doesn't feed him so he goes to bed early so he's not awake and hungry.

I told my wife that's not happening today on my watch.

So instead of freezing all the steaks, I left out a bunch so we'd have enough for 4 of us and we're gonna eat good tonight.

Apparently his mom is in the Army...there's no Army base near here. And he's living with his grandmother bc he said there's "problems" with his dad.

Freaking kills me. He's a great kid. Not sure what the problem entails but I'm under the impression they don't get along. This kid is coming up right, through all his trials. Very polite and well-mannered.

My son's other 2 friends came over as well unexpectedly. I didn't have enough for all of them. So they decided to go home and get food and come back to eat here. Luckily we have a formal dining room and a kitchen dinette. So they're all 4 in the kitchen and me and the wife are in the dining room.

It's so weird having 4 kids lmfaooooooo

Apparently his face lit up when my wife asked how he likes his steak.

He cleaned his plate and I'm pretty sure my wife had loaded him down.

If he hadn't said anything to my wife, we never would have known anything, going by outward appearances.

Not sure how I feel about this, it bothers me. šŸ˜•

That's a beautiful plate of food and a perfect temp on that steak. That aside and addressing the point of your post, well done sir. In addition to a good meal, you provided a good example that I hope resonated wtih that young man. I live in an area where you can't take 5 steps without passing 10 hands out begging for "help". In my limited experience, I've found that the people you would actually want to help aren't easy to see because they are busy working to improve their situation. So you find them through personal interactions. I know children are not good examples of the people I'm talking about but you found this one by happenstance and chose to help them. In our limited circles, we look after our own, and do what we can.

Thank you for taking the time to post that, reading that helps me clear my head. You nailed it, you get it. My emotions have been running on happy, sad, and thankful all at the same time...

That is beautiful what you did my friend. Iā€™m doing just fine but I also try and help when needed. My wife and I do this kind of thing all the time when we can. We volunteer and we give. Kudos to you for helping all of them.
