I bought this 19 just to hold me over to the S650 shows. Then this will get sold. And the S650 will likely be my last new Mustang.

No intention to modify mine. A10, PP1, 401A, Magne-Ride.
Plenty of performance for this 53 year old.

Only mod so far is a different shifter knob. Planning to delete the resonators. Love the way R pops on down shifts. Once the warranty expires, I may super charge the Voodoo.

I have only changed out the stock resonator with an h-pipe. As wonderful as the active exhaust is, it felt like it had a hand over its mouth (pipes?) when you would rev it.

I understand it was done to keep the tone a little more peaceful for the common person (especially after seeing all the fiberglass in that thing!). But I wanted something a *little* more.. and nothing more.

My days of running offroad pipes and an obnoxious exhaust are over. I enjoy being able to be loud in track mode, quiet in quiet mode, and sounding good but not over the top in sport mode.

That and the catch can are the only mods that i will ever do to mine. It's absolutely perfect now, and any changes would diminish it for me.

As far as the poll.. i wish it was multiple choice, because these are my selections..

  • It’s a brand new car and have “Warranty” concerns
  • No intention; function and performance out of the box is fine, just enjoying and driving it as is
  • Can’t do DIY (ie: capable, but no garage or place to do the work)

Who has NOT modified their S550 at all since buying it (all years apply)?

Meaning it’s 100% bone stock as built and as purchased (new or used).

Who does that, a Mustang deservers some refinement, brings out its persona. PP2 needs very little, a few Roush upgrades, finish what Ford started.

Great car this ol Mustang is.

My car is new and I only have a couple mods on the to do list
- New Tint (first tint I got is not dark enough)
- H pipe ( a little bit extra bark)
and possibly tint the rear taillights for a more blacked out look.

Pretty happy with everything else for the time.

What's the difference between choices 1 and 2? Seems the same to me regarding the question. Anyway, OP didn't define 'modify', so I assume if it doesn't affect warranty, it shouldn't be considered 'modified', so I voted for option #2. I only installed front and rear braces and jacking rails, plus cosmetic add-ons, and OEM GT350 gauges. So no real modifications IMO.

Leasing your car doesn't necessarily mean not modifying it....

Just checking in since creating the poll...

whew... originally the poll choices where just selections to choose for those who are not modifying, but I threw in the others just for comedic sake because I KNOW there’s plenty of S550 owners who do modify their rides....

And I knew there where going to be some that where like “oh geez, I changed a shift knob or changed a radio station, is that “modified”. Changing a shift knob yes, changing a radio station preset from default value, no.... LOL....

So that is why when I created this, I opened the choices more to have a fun poll....

Definition of “modify”:
make partial or minor changes to (something), typically so as to improve it or to make it less extreme.

Definition of “stock” in vehicle terminology:
unchanged, not changed; unaltered, car remains completely “as built” from the Manufacturer.

—-

I’ve updated the poll so that a single user can select up to (5) items in the list... Not sure why some would need to select more than 1 item IF the initial selection is the main reason as to why the car has not been modified.

“Leased” poll choice:
Yes, I know even if leased it can be modified, but most who do lease don’t modify and don’t even pursue buying the car after the lease term expires.

Have fun with it.... there’s no wrong or right answer. Was more curious about the S550 user base that has elected not to change their S550 at all.

Okay so now I checked the first 4. I do have a PP2 so it really doesn't need much for me as it already is a fire breathing beast as is.
