Poll: Mach 1 Style. Same color side stripe or two tone?

Hello.

I am making the rounds. I did the intro and started a members build thread.

Now to the polls. I am doing a Royal Crimson Mach 1 tribute style and I had originally resigned myself to matching the side stripes to the obligatory matt black hood and rear spoiler.

After looking around more i found that it was almost impossible to find an actual Mach one that did not have a different color side stripe. I am not sure many alive today will even know what an original Mach 1 is and such a look might be seen as rather ugly by most...which honestly is not something i want to do. On the other hand...people MIGHT like the original look. Frankly i don't know. As i had said..i was already resigned to do matt black but after looking at more pictures thought i might ask for opinions.

The pics are just an aid...my mustang is crimson not orange.

I voted for gold. I say dare to be different, almost everybody else has matching colors, including me, so do your own thing. And if you use vinyl and don't like the way it turns out, it's easy to change it.

Let sleeping dogs lie (lay?) and match them up. Your car is very dark so maybe even both could be lighter?
Ford had some weird combos back then but that doesn't mean it was right.
