Found this in my driveway and googled the numbers. It's a zinc coated weight. Google says most post 1990 jap and Korean cars have these. I know my mustang isn't Jap or Korean but do our cars have these????

My concern is because this is brand new with no visible wear and my car is a week old so by putting 2+2 together....I just hope this doesn't belong on my car

Do any of your wheels appear to be missing weights? Do any of the weights on your wheels look like that? Does your car feel like it has a weird vibration while driving it?

I don't believe it would be from a mustang. The type of rims we have the weights are usually glued and looked like flat pieces of metal on the inside of the rim. Check your rims and see they have those type of weight or the flat ones and if it is what you have look for very clue spots on the rim.

Jackrook, if so you might want to have the wheel it came from balanced at the tire shop or dealer. Sorry to hear about your wheels.

Just looked under my car. All 4 wheels have them however the ones on my car are larger and have different numbers(I'm assuming they stand for different weights?)

They choose the weights specifically for each wheel, so they could have different weights on each wheel, but usually they don't double up those kinds of weights on the same wheel, so if all four wheels have weights and your car doesn't vibrate driving around, you should be okay. But you could always have a tire shop or the dealership double-check the balancing if you're really concerned.

Typically those kind of weights are on the inside part of the wheel, it would be kind of hard for you to see them.

I can get a good look at a T-bone by sticking my head up a bull's ass, but I'd rather take a butcher's word for it.

Consider it a gift, add it to the pile and later cast a few hundred 115 grain fun-pieces... :)

Yeah they balance em statically "inside". There'd be alot of pissed people if they pounded those suckers on the rim face. Those weights really sucks and stick on are a much better way to go.

On another note. Judging from the looks of the inside edge of my PP rims, they have real hacks mounting these tires. I'd be pissed if I bought a set of aftermarket rims and they were hacked as these factory installs. Guess we just have to deal with it since it came from Ford that way....

My standard 18" wheels have the stick on weights inside the wheels.
