My passenger floor is soaked. I started tearing everything apart. I noticed under the battery box there is a drain. Please check it if you haven't and you have an older car. Mine is a 2017. It was over an inch deep. There was also a circle piece of tape blocking the hole . The drain to the right was also plugged with debris as my car lives outside

Thanks. It filled up and leaked over the fresh air intake for the hvac. A few towels under the carpet and some fans and it's nearly dry.

It’s not a bad idea to just pull the battery and look for corroded battery box mount bolts ( see photo). I just had mine out to install GT500 cam covers. Drains were good, and I cleaned up the mount bolts.

I've never seen them look like that. Battery leaking?

No leaks from current battery. Original was changed out by AAA and my bet is that the original battery had leaked. No corrosion anywhere else fortunately.

I pulled my battery box a couple weeks ago and the drain looked good.

I did however break 2 of the bolts holding it on🤬

That bolt corrosion is caused by the fact that Ford designed the battery box to be such a tight fit that you can not fit the battery vent tubes, one either side of the battery. All batteries with the holes for vent tubes gas off a bit, normally evacuated to atmosphere outside the battery box, but in this case just vented into the battery box with nowhere to go. Stupid design fault.
