Has anyone mounted anything in this area? This area has about 3/4" drop in the headliner, and possible to mount something using two short screws?

Any opinion on this or has had experience in dropping this part of headliner to comment?

Will it fit in the concealed sunglass tray to the left of the steering column ?

I like the idea of having it visible, top-of-mind. No way I'd remember to go looking in the glove box or "sunglass holder for people with tiny faces" if an emergency arose.

I put one in my wife's Escape in the door pocket, in case she rolls into one of our abundant water hazards down here. She also needs a gun to shoot the marauding gators while waiting for roadside assistance to get her out.

Just carry a G-lock. Then shoot the glass.

Wont work because if the car flips you wont be able to open the sunglasses holder tray as the tool would get jammed.

Another mounting spot might be beside the drivers seat.
I've attached velcro to the plastic trim and keep a small flashlight there. I don't see why a glass/seat belt tool wouldn't mount there and you'd see it every time you get in. Sibce the plastic doesn't hold adhesive well I've pop riveted the velcro on, I don't see why two small screws wouldn't work too.

I would keep it in the center console, easy to get to and will open even if the car is flipped. You can double stick velcro it to the bottom or side of center console and even if you flipped it won't just fall out.

Well then why require the tool when you just pull your headrest and use it to break the glass? Just saying!
See, now that makes more sense. At least the headrest is already a part of the car and doesn't cost extra money ................ :sunglasses:
