Lol why does it matter? Are you worried they hid some massive mechanical fix in the 21 engines? I'm pretty doubtful.
[/QUOTE
If you heard it or have said issue it matters.

Ok well that still does not tell us where you got the info from and what the info stated.

You started out the first thread with "I've been informed"...

Why not tell us who informed you and what did they say?
Sorry not understanding what your asking. You want a person's name?
I was informed by Ford customer care that their engineers stated the Tsb will not be extented to include 2021 MY because they have revised piston skirt design.
So if not an issue then why fix it?

Again, that should have been the next question to that CC rep not us.

Also, just because it's not an issue doesn't mean it doesn't merit a redesign. Ford should be improving things continually and trying to keep customers happy and buying their products. Maybe they realized the noise would probably lead potential customers away from the brand, so they spent the money to improve things even if there was no long term damage caused by it. Noone wants to buy an engine that makes noise, so a better sounding engine increases sales.

Doesn't deal with engineers or anything other than customer service.
Not customer service at the dealer level. Customer care at head office level and they do according to them.

Yes I agree completely. The sound would deter anybody from buying the vehicle and had to be addressed. As a tech the sound ruins the car and I can only hope what they say is true about the longevity of the engine but my experience tells me otherwise.
As far as posting the question to cc instead of this thread. Ford turns it back to the dealers discretion which starts the whole circle again. It can only be addressed with the dealer once I have evidence of damage. In the meantime I posted this thread to fish for information.....

Given the Coyote is about 10 years old now, and there's been hundreds of thousands of units running, there doesn't seem to be any long term issue with said noise. There have been many many examples of high mileage engines out there, so that should put your mind at ease about its longevity.

I have yet to see any tear downs or evidence that leads to inherent piston/skirt damage in these high mileage units.

I hope that's the case here. My expectations of my first new car purchase keep lowering and am at the point where I'll except it for what it is as long as it doesn't fail. MT82 D4 included.
It's a shame though because it's a well equipped vehicle that roars like a beast.

Yes would be great standalone options perhaps detuned to 285 HP so we can rev the nuts off it just to enjoy the sound without going to prison haha.
285??? Blasphemy.

Still doesn't make it a truck motor, especially when there are pretty significant differences between the truck and car variants of the engine.

But I digress.
The shortblock in the gen3 is exactly the same for F-150 and mustang. Heads are the same just different cams. Only real difference is the cams and intake

What was the milage when that happened? What damage warranted the replacement?
Scoring?
