I like it, and I like the leather. I've thought about these but I need another caliber like I need another hole in my head.

You might want to check out the Single Action Shooting Society about cowboy action shooting and guns of the old west. More traditional rounds that are a carryover, although now smokeless, are the Colt .45 and 44-40 Winchester. Both are expensive rounds and become punishing if you are shooting all day, which is why most cowboy action shooters prefer .38’s out of a .357 gun. For a nice 1873 Colt replica, look at Uberti, Cimmaron Firearms, Taylor Firearms. I have a Cimmaron (Uberti) Model P 1873 Old Model, 7-1/2”, Colt .45, with a Matt Dillon replica holster.

I bought that holster from Wm Brown Holster in Tombstone, AZ. It’s really nice and wasn’t expensive. He did many other replica holsters when I got mine.

Yes it does. While it’s modern and not a vintage design, it sure speaks of “the old west.” I have a 5158 Fastdraw with a jewled hammer.

Sorry for the promotion, but my father is probably the best vintage gun leather guys in the US if not the world. No others compare if you truly look at fit, finish, carving, and materials objectively. He has been on the cover of and featured in Guns of the Old West, Guns and Ammo, True West, Cowboys and Indians, Combat Arms and others. At 75 years old he still works seven days a week making his works of art. Just he and my mother run the business.

Btw, I am huge gun guy, old and new. Really need to add a pair of 4 3/4 matched nickle Colt SAA to my collection.

Check out his stuff here! www.westernstarleather.com.
