Trailer looks great. Be careful where you leave it. There was a rash of thefts back east a few years back of trailers by tracks at hotels. Ppl wake up for a track day and fund they had no trailer.

Wow, those wider stripes look tons better!

Wish I'd been able to make it up to Sonoma, but with a move upcoming, have too much going on around the house at the moment.
Totally agreed on the wider stripes!! :like: :like:

Just a small percentage of the 1965 GT350's left the Venice/LAX facilities with painted OTT Lemans stripes but all cars came standard with the vinyl side stripes.

This is such a badass shot. Thanks for sharing with us! I really love the wider OTT stripes and you can also tell the difference in the quality of the painted stripes vs vinyl. Wish I could afford to do it on mine but will just have to accept being jealous of yours.

@slingblade I'm actually at Hickham AFB - TDY for the next 45 days and would kill to find out where #LR045 is- and if he is on Oahu - BEG him to let me ride passenger on a drive. Being in the 350R driving along the Hawaiian coast would be an unforgettable experience. Instead my reality is below -- courtesy of the USAF. I had a standing bet with my commander that I would either get "one of those crappy 95 hp Sparks" or even worse "the dreaded mini-van" - I won the bet but still lost. lol

Well, I’m TDY at Yokota, lol, and I bet my little 1300cc Suzuki Swift would give you a run for the money.

The Japanese would love to see these cars in person. There are only a handful of Mustangs over here, including a 2007 GT500 converted to an Eleanor.

What outstanding pictures and thanks for posting!

I remember meeting both Mark and John Atzbach at the 2014 Amelia Island Concours Event at which time both gentlemen first revealed SFM5001 and SFM5003.

In my humble opinion these two historic Shelby owners stole much of the show at Amelia Island that year with their outstanding Prototype "Street and Competition" GT350's.

If I recall correctly John ended up with a flat tire on the infield and of course that was an interesting scenario to deal with but all ended up well in the end.

Both Mark and John are some of the nicest and most knowledgeable Shelby Mustang people that I have ever met over the last 50+ years and of course their historic and outstanding vehicles speak for themselves.

As a side note and if memory serves me right I believe that it was only the first 3 prototype 1965 GT350's built that signified either an "S" or "R" in the Shelby VIN plate after which time chassis #4 to # 31 did not signify either a "Street" or "Competition/Race" model in the VIN/chassis plate and would read something as "SFM5031" for car #31 after which time car #32 would read "SFM5S032" and that series of VIN's would continue on for the rest of the 1965 model year.

Sorry for resurrecting a dead thread, but the OTT stripes and the side stripes came out really great and it's great you were able to get the guys at OVC to sign your car as well as Peter Brock! True legends with the GT350 that are still with us.

Troy, thanks so much for the detailed measurements for the Guardsman Blue OTT stripes that Peter Brock applied to your car as the results are simply outstanding to say the least!

I realize that our 2nd generation GT350's are a totally different time and different design but I thought that it would be interesting to compare the original stripe specs from the original 1965 GT350 car to your 2020 GT350.
For what it is worth the 15-20 GT350's are actually the 3rd Generation GT350, maybe 4th if you want to listen to the 07-08 Shelby GT guys, but that could be a different conversation. The 2nd Generation GT350's are the 11-14 GT350 that Caroll Shelby & SA did.

If anyone else is ever interested in this type of trailer we have the solution for how to make it work for a GT350 or GT350R. We had to figure it out a little bit because as you noticed it is a tight fit. Trailer is designed to be that way though.
Didn't Peter Brock also design that trailer? I was looking at them a year or so ago and I thought I had read that he designed them because he was looking at the supposed aerodynamic trailer designs were really nonsense.

This picture really shows how much better the Peter Brock OTT stripes are compared to the Ford OTT stripes.

Peter Did design the Aero Vault.

As far as the Shelby GT, Carroll did not feel the Shelby GT lived up to the 350 name. While a good engine, the 3V did not have the power needed without major modification. Only when the Coyote came out did Carroll feel it could wear the name. That is not to disrespect the Shelby GT. In fact, I would love to park one next to the 350
