Had a Whipple on my S550 and loved it, but I have a 13 Boss now and figured I would ask this here since its essentially the same motor. I don't want to get rid of the Boss intake on the car since it has the number plate. and have Been eyeing a Paxton setup. For fuel I think ID1050x and a Fore twin pump system on E85 will suffice but what head unit and pulley would be optimal? I see Beef cake has an H.O kit which is a 2200 oil feed unit and 8 rib setup. is the 8 rib setup worth it? I think it comes with a 3.47 pulley, would that get me into the territory I am looking for? not too familiar with centrifugal blowers. thanks!

I would think you would need a 3.33" pulley and 6 rib can be used in that size, but I would go 8 rib to keep it more consistent. A 3.33" will get you in the 800 range, but on the stock motor it is definately pushing the limits.

In order to achieve 800 whp with a Paxton, you'll be pushing the rpm limits of the blower and it'll have a limited life span. My suggestion is to step up to a Vortech JT trim and it'll live a long life... and you can bump up the power later if you so wish.....

But...... if you insist on a paxton.... e85, headers, a filter intake, and a 3.33 pulley should get you there with a good tune, but don't plan on the Paxton living for ever.

I believe the original poster stated it was a oil fed Paxton. Most likely that is the JT trim oil fed re-badged.

Yep, discard my post. Paxton H.O. will do the trick. My brother made 819whp with the JT trim, which does have the exact same specs as the Paxton H.O. (I just looked them up, lol). Thanks for the correction BadGTR, I guess I'm just use to seeing so many go with the SL kit I quickly breezed through and didn't pay much attention.

Good deal thanks for the insight.

Have your paxton setups been pretty reliable?

My car made 790 on the Paxton with a 3.48 pulley before I added 2 degrees of timing and a 2018 intake. It is a 2015 GT with a 6r80 3c stall and e85. My best time was a 9.38 at 148.make sure you get 8rib, oil fed and the larger BV57 BOV. Be honest with what your goals upfront so you don't have to buy twice. I am in the process of installing the hellion street sleeper kit on my car. Good luck with the build.

if you def want 850 wheel, i like the oil fed units a little better, my stage 2 package with jt (jtb not needed) or paxton oil fed would be your hot ticket, the standard 2200 can get there, but it's close to the edge.

feel free to give me a ring with any questions, i'm vortech / paxton's largest auto dealer in the world and can def dial you in!

i'm around til 10pm daily with any questions

JT self contained and 2200 self contained are the same blower. JT oil fed and 2200 oil fed are the same blower. Both versions are just rebadged.

jt and 2200 hd are essentially the same unit,

might be some confusions. the new v3jt and 2200sl are the same blower, just rebadged. the 2200hd is an oil fed 2200, and very similar to the v7jt. 1 slight difference. the 2200 hd, along with the v3, v3jt, and 2200 sl, have a 3.6 step up ratio, the v7jt and everything above it in a belt drive, billet jt, ysi, and billet ysi, have a 3.45 step up ratio.

so v3jt=2200
v7jt=2200hd with diff step up ratios
billet ysi=ysi with billet impeller
billet jt and jt, not really close
the billet jt is actually closer to a ysi in size, it is a purpose built class blower for nmra coyote modified series. imo, the best belt driven blower out there

You want the set up I now have. I have a 13 BOSS with the Paxton H.O. kit. 8 rib set up, which I recommend, and a 3.47 pulley. BAP with ID 1000 injectors. I run 12 psi in hot weather and sometimes she will creep a little higher in the cold weather. I run 93 with torco. Car has dynoed 772 RWHP with MS 100 octane gas for safety. I was under the understanding that the H.O had a better bearing than the regular 2200. Maybe not. Anyhow. Works really well. I also changed the rear gears to 3.31 instead of 3.73. Makes the power more useable. Ran 188 in the standing mile with a huge headwind. With my previous 3.73 gearing, (and plugged catalytic converters) I ran 172. Just wasn't pulling the tall gearing.

What RPM are you seeing 12PSI at? That seems a bit low for that pulley and 8rib. I am running 3.48 6 rib on my paxton 2200 and see around 14-15PSI at 7500.
