Side windows look the same.
Just looks like a modified Evos quarter window shape to me. A cross between that and the current shape. That would've been a whole lot more accurate than saying it looks like the Accord.

The post is accurate and was written as it was intended.
OK, I stand corrected.
Depending on what parts the CAD files were of (obviously protected info), it still doesnt change what I (and Chaz himself) said about overall accuracy.

You do realize that the Fox Mustang was also very much a corporate face design right? Taurus, Escort, T-bird.....
Yes. I have a Fox. I wasn't talking about a Fox body though. That was decades ago.

I was talking about the S550 which is the 50th anniversary. The 2005 -2014 looks like no other Ford offering -- it is safe to say most don't want S550 to either, especially for the car that marks a 50 year run for one of the most loved cars in the world.

Real car is more svelte. Lower, slender and elegant. This has a "built on a S197" vibe to it. Nice job though. Ford may see this and counteract.

Encouraging to hear. I agree with those who would describe being just a bit "off" and a little bland.

I would definitely like something that's a bit lower to the ground.

This of course is certainly not meant as a criticism of the fine job that was done on these renders. They are very impressive in a technical sense.

Y'all gotta remember this is a global car so everyone including china, has to be happy. They made this car to appeal to everyone across the board (conservatively speaking). The current car is not up to global standards. If you want the last real Americanized (live rear axle) car, get the 14'.

This is it. Not to thru throw fuel in the fire, but the reality is that this is not the radical fantasy that some people wanted, nor a purely retro design.

What it is stylistically is just a small step forward. A 2014 with a dose - a small dose - of Evos added in. The overall silhouette is very close, in the same family clearly, the grill is familiar, the styling is as much an evolutionary step from the S197 as is the structure underneath is. Money was spent on what is just a bit more than a "top hat", on the suspension and brakes (bringing them into the 21st century), and on at least one new-to-the-Mustang engine (itself shared and from an existing family). And TBD modifications to enable right-hand-drive, and safety improvements. A slightly larger but still incremental improvement in budget over what Ford has done in the past. That tells us that Ford has seen improvements in the Mustang market, justifying investment, but needs much more from the international quarters to someday do a more thorough replacement for the platform.

S550 will not turn off Mustang buyers because it will be utterly familiar to them. And the electronics inside will be a huge take, a giant plus.

It remains to be seen what the standard engine will be, if it's the EcoBoost or the V-6 (so far Ford has used the EcoBoost as an upmarket option, but that strategy has to change as EcoBoost becomes standard in more and more lines). And on whether or not any money was spent on the V-6 and 5.0 V-8 engines for Direct Injection. And if the wretched MT82 was replaced.

So boring. So plain. People can't keep saying Ford can come out like in 2005 and start vanilla. There is so much more competition now that it can't be done and still have the car be successful.

Ford has to come out guns blazing and refreshes have to be just as exciting. The time for plain releases is over, unless Ford wants to bury the Mustang.

WAY too late. There can be no "counteract". The car is done, committed, production tooling is underway, and prototypes are rolling down the existing production line soon if they aren't already (many months will be spent there, and the resulting product will have much higher build quality than currently).

And it has that vibe because that's what it evolved from underneath.

I hope there is a more of a quarter panel scoop than is shown in this render. It's a styling feature that I've always liked that says THIS IS A MUSTANG.

I have to say nice work.

As anyone who has worked with CAD images can tell you and what most people fail to realize is that even CAD images straight from the manufacturer can't compare to how good cars will look in the flesh. It is night and day.

I've seen many CAD images in my work and can tell you if this is an accurate portrayal of CAD then the car has every potential to be stunning even for just a base model.
