I've always the liked the classic look of side exhaust. I am curious if anyone here has installed them on your vehicles and how do you like them? TIA

I had side pipes on my 66 Mustang and loved them. Loud obnoxious and very cool. They were painted black. No one burned their legs on the pipes getting out like they did on my friend's 66 Vette. Got a lot of complements on them because you never saw a Mustang with side pipes. Who offers a set up for the S550 body style?

Some set ups can make the side more dirty and harder to clean

I would want Zoomies.... mad max style, but doubt it would look good on the S550... too retro

I'm digging them. As with any exhaust I wonder what the drone is like at low rpms on the freeway.

Side are awesome... light weight, centralized weight distribution and great looking... but they are obnoxiously loud and raspy. Make your choice

Side pipes on a '66 corvette big block 427 cause about 30 hp loss due to the extreme bend. Recently restored one and that was the understanding from the C2 vette gurus

I know this thread is old, but wanted to ask anyway. Seems like the consensus is that the car is louder with these. My question is if someone can say exactly how much louder. With close neighbors and a relatively quieter subdivision I want to be conscious of the noise level, although I really do like the look of side exit. Anyone able to help clarify? Is there anything that can be done to tone it down or make it quieter, at least until I put the GT350 in Sport Mode? Thanks!

I guess they used the zoomie term also for the header side pipes on the Interceptor?
