I was hoping I could get some help/opinions from some of the distinguished forum members!

I have an Iconic silver gt500 w/ black painted stripes. I have ordered various carbon fiber parts and I’m starting to have second thoughts. The first part I received that was on back order was the rear deck lid that I immediately took to my ppf installer. I was excited to install it, but after I got it on I just wasn’t sure? Asked my wife and she thought it looked good with the wing. I can see that, but not sure how it flows into the taillights and looks with the black stripes. So now I kinda wonder if it won’t flow well with the carbon fiber front bumper insert and carbon fiber hood scoops as well? I think the black looks mean and I may just prefer it and hell it’s cheaper :)

I don’t have any good pictures prior to installing the new rear piece, but I will include what I have.

Opinions, please and thank you!!!

Nice car.
If you don't mind my asking, what's the sticker price for those painted stripes? There are some rumors going around they are very pricey.

Piano black looks real nice IMO.

Painted stripes are really nice. Well done.

I like the CF. Especially if you keep going, there will be more to tie in visually.

I have carbon almost everywhere except the rear deck lid and the front bumper insert. To me it flows way better keeping everything between the headlight/taillights black. You can't get carbon headlight/taillight assemblies, and to me stick on overlays aren't an option.

This is your battle, but that's what I did.

I put one on and took it right off. It didn't look right to me. If you extended the cf into the tail lights...... maybe.

I like the OEM panel better. The lines in it help it flow. I was a bit surprised of how well the painted stripes were. I'm happy I was able to get them now.

This, 100%.
They are not CF, but overlays. That was enough for me. Why hasn't the aftermarket made taillight housings that would mesh?

As expected, it looks as if I will be posting a rear deck lid w/ ppf in the classifieds :)

I decided I will run carbon for the diffuser, side skirts, splitter and wickers and leave the rest alone.

Thank you for your advice gentlemen!

I have some on my convertible that are overlays, but they are actual carbon fiber. They actually look really good. Actual carbon fiber tail light housings would be astronomical in price. I can’t imagine how hard that would be to lay up. Would have to be vacuum bagged.
