Just make sure you
AWD vehicles can be boring compared to mustangs or other high hp front motor rwd cars I would think. . Breaking traction hitting rolling burnouts at 40-70+ mph is alot of the fun in driving imo
Maybe, but choice is nice.

For the kind of money you are talking about, I would get a 991.2 GTS or 992 S.
Agree.
The folks I know who have gone GTR, have gone GTR<R8<911 (GTS and Turbo).
One guy went GTR<AMG GT and is happy as well.
Seems like the GTR is the affordable entry level vehicle to a very costly hobby :-

I picked up the 2020 GT PP1 with Magneride as a dedicated track car, and questioning my choice after overheating lots of fluids on the track. Although a very taxing track. Debating on selling (at 1,500 miles Lol) or adding a bunch of parts/coolers.

I almost bought a GTR a few weeks ago... I love my mustang, BUT, that GTR was nice... minor bolts and a tune make the gtr super fun on any weather. Get both, i won't even bother with a new gtr... 2013 and up and you are good to go...

For the coin the GTR commands, there are so many more better choices out there!
Taking nothing away from the GTR, a friend HAD one, it’s a nice car. But it is not a super car in the way the others mentioned are. Like others have said, stepping stone vehicle to the exotics.
Just my nickel on this...

Being an import guy since I was in my teens. Only owned 1 american muscle car at 19, 1992 Pontiac Trans Am. After that all import I have wanted a GTR since 2009, even before I wanted a JDM Skyline GTR.
But I ended up with a 19 Mustang GT AT, with plans of boosting it.
After a year or 2 I will look back into the GTR market and see if my credit can make it happen.

My buddy owns a GTR, 1087ahwp on E85
With that kind of power, AWD is king!

Get a GTR but try and get a newer one as the older models don't hold up well when making big power over stock.

*Guys have made 800awhp on E85 stock motor/stock trans.

Performance wise and money wise... not many things match the FBO+E85 GTR if you want that "exclusivity look"... ferrari? mclaren? 911? not for 65-95K... 911 maybe but if you go 996-997, 991 maybe on the entry levels... but you won't get as much "speed" factor compared to the GTR

Now... audi RS3+FBO+E85... now we are talking about easy 10 sec but no "looks"

AWD is nice for rainy season... it has been raining every single fucking day for the last 3 or 4 weeks here in jax... you can't enjoy the mustang properly on this weather... so, STI/WRX are the fun ones right now... GTR will add more fun into that section
