Opinion on B&O System and 401A Leather on 2019?

I reaLly like the B&O, I don’t play it loud and it has clear sound at low volumes. I really like the 401 package, the seats are comfortable and the trim work is really sharpe looking. Plus the LED display is killer cool.

I have a base 300a car. I changed out the speakers with Infinity and it sounds great to me. Took me an hour or two, I forget. I don't ghetto thump down the road so I'm happy to save the money. Put it into performance mods and fuel.

You possibly have a thread about this? Part list? Did you need an amp?

I picked up a GT with the 401a package and B&O audio. It's the best sounding audio package I've ever had in a car (way better than the "premium" Sony garbage in my Escape.)

The premium sound system is great because it has the CD player. Plus, the HD radio makes it easy to understand words to music I've been listening to for 50 years.

In my daily driver the stereo is important to me, in the Mustang it was the last thing on my mind. When I drive the Mustang I listen to the engine, maybe because it's not my daily so I can enjoy the moments more, not sure, heck maybe its because I'm getting older, whatever the reason when I was looking I didn't give a rats ass what radio was in it.

I added HD radio for $150 bucks via hd acm off eBay out of a hd radio car. Worth it, took a few minutes to program a couple code changes via acm too change the radio to HD enable, but I have 5 channels in my area all HD only one preset isn't HD and its so nice. Sounds great.

Worth it for those who dont have it currently. Took 20 minutes to swap them out.

I remember complaints in the S197 days about the content changing as the car's environment was causing the HD content to come and go. I never understood the logic of having different content for the same station.

I never listen to radio so no first hand experience.

Not for me, I never have a channel switch hd then reg then hd then reg. Its either im HD within zone, and the second I reach outside of the bubble it drops to regular.

Ie. I have HD dayton Ohio channels for like 30 mile radius, once im 5-10 minutes (25 minutes west of Dayton) I lose the HD status and drops down, but I just switch to indiana channel at that point.

6 months and I haven't had a channel switch back and fourth, its either full HD or comes as standard fortunately in my area. Cant speak for all. Whats also nice, is lets use example 99.1 in my area, it has 3 sub channels, like ones country, one is rock, and one is classic rock, all on same channel all HD. So my 5 channels are actually like 15 HD radio channels.

So my LCD screen shows like 94.5 then 99.1 HD, then next save is 99.1 HD2 then next 99.1 HD3 kind of neat really. as I keep 3 channels from 99.1 as presets saved

What makes no sense to me is that Ford doesn't just use HD radio in all of its cars, my 2013 Taurus Limited had it, I loved it, my even more expensive 2017 MKZ doesn't have HD radio, what the frig Ford??

Yep.. crazy. I spent 70 dollars on 2 coaxial JBL GT629 rears, and 150 on the HD acm, and bam. 220 bucks, had 11 speakers + HD channels, spent $450 bought a JL stealth box off a member used, that's 700 bucks, have an amazing system once disabled the factory EQ. That brought the speakers too life, and taking the bass to 0 made them crystal clear. Even at max, the stock speakers in my car dont distort. Not mad at all.

I did buy a 12 speaker DSP though for $70 from a 12 speaker car, and a hex tall harness to run the oem sub signal to my aftermarket amp/jl box. Works flawless.

At first I was not impressed with the B&O in my 2019 Bullitt. Now that the system has some hours on it the sound is much better. I’m guessing that the speakers needed break-in time.

The 401A seats are great. The B&O system is pretty good, much better than the other systems available. The only issue I have is finding the right setting for the bass. I have it set pretty close to min so that it does not overpower the rest of the system. Also as someone else mentioned, it does seem to get better balanced over time.

And best of all 401a gets you the terrific digital dash as well.lots of options for displaying car
systems in a set of graphics,with up to 5 gauges
