I have the same dampers as those on the Steeda #20 car. I run 650# front springs and 840# rear springs (true rear coilover). It seems fine so far, but I have not taken it out on track yet. Took a long time for the dampers to be built.
This is the equivalent of ~1900 lb/in in the stock location.

I would love to run those duel rate comp springs on my Shelby if steeda comes out with it.

I think it's actually closer to 13-1400.
The shock location has a motion ratio very close to 0.75. Wheel rate = (MR^2)*spring rate

You can - in limited spurts. In HPDE, I can go (my version of) 10/10ths for only portions of laps, as the traffic is either not fast enough or not capable enough to not be in the way. Additionally, each session is only 20-min.
Maybe limited spurts for portions of a lap at a time is all it takes to get some sense of a car's limit behavior. Finding out what one or two corners at a time can support is probably the way most HPDE'ers learn a track anyway.

Being able to relax (mentally and for the most part physically) at 1+ lateral g's probably helps with the ability to actually notice what's going on.
