Pretty interesting article from CarBuzz...

Lifting a new Lightning will dramatically affect its range ... So I wonder what the workaround will be...

EV's aren't the answer, and if something as simple as adding a lift kit to an EV truck has such an impact on drivability range... have fun...

The entire length of the article is spent explaining how the leveling kit (lift) isn't the culprit, it's the heavier aftermarket wheels and larger 34 inch tires... Doing that to any truck will decrease its range, this problem isn't unique to the Lightning or electric trucks in general.

This is only a big deal with the Lightning because it already has such a short range, but anyone buying a Lightning already knows that. Battery technology just needs to improve more, then truck bros can ruin them to their heart's content.

The elephant in the room, the one that everybody seems to ignore is that we don't have the physics to improve batteries so much.
There is only so much product development (what Tesla calls "research") can do if the correct understanding of underlying physics is absent.

First you need the science, then you can try to industrialize that science to make a product.

Everybody seems to ignore that when talking about the environment (see "renewables and electric cars will save the world"). The only thing I'm sad about is that politicians are asking people to do sacrifices without really saving the world because all these eco-movements are ideological and not science-based. Who calls for a more fact-based approach is roasted as someone who does not believe the verb.

Why read the article and have an actual, valid opinion, when you can ignore the article's content and post a sensational headline, instead???
