I put some s types on my Bullitt and I realized that it either goes full close for quiet or full open for track. if you select normal or sport it goes to the full open position. This doesn't necessarily bother me since i am either in quiet or track mode. I am just curious if anyone knows the reason? No dummy lights on the dash or warning messages.

I think you may have the same issue that I’ve encountered with my Bullitt recently, which is likely chaffing on the right side active exhaust harness, from rubbing on the pinch weld. I didn’t get any lights on the dash either. The way I discovered the problem with my AE was during a random check for codes on my nGauge. Here are the codes that surfaced, all of which are AE related.

I will order a new harness to fix it, once we get settled into our new house and I can work on the car comfortably. The permanent fix, as far as I can tell, is not just replacing the right side harness, but grinding out the section of the pinch weld that makes contact with the harness. One thing that’s clear is, FORD had to know this would be an issue with the harness rubbing.

I just went out to check the car again and it was doing all four modes, I’m going to assume that the computer needed a chance to reset after being unplugged? I appreciate the info though!

NP, but I think you may eventually have an issue with it again. There are several members on here that have had the problem surface as well.
