I mean, there is... because you're overlaying material on top of the OEM trim.... but sure ignore physics.

The whole point of carbon fiber is to make things lighter not heavier.
maybe if he takes a big shit before driving it will even out. I mean it's not like CF weighs a lot

I'm not saying it makes a difference but it defeats the entire purpose to do it this way. Hydro dipping it would look better IMO anyways unless the car came with the OEM carbon dash.

Psst...hydrodipping adds a microscopic amount of additional weight too and worse yet, fake carbon fiber hydrodip looks like shit and makes you look like a poser.

To each their own but OPs pictures look uneven and wavy. This looks way better and would be cheaper: http://infectedhydro.com/wp-content...4222_641796619251381_670211381281180585_n.jpg
I believe what you're describing - assuming you're talking about the upper section* - is an optical contusion from the reflection, if you look at the rest of the dash, in all the photos, it looks glassy smooth.

* If you're talking about a slight inconsistency of the weave, that's what real carbon fiber looks like. The more organic weave pattern is awesome, vs. the decal look of hydro-dip. I've had a decent amount of real CF on cars, and it often has material overlaps (like under a hood), weave pattern shifts, etc.

Side note: a guy who used to live next to my folks house was a sailing engineer, consulted for high end sailing vessels, he used to bag some of his own carbon parts in his workshop, cool stuff.

There is some pretty decent hydro dipping patterns out there that are awesome... But there is no comparison to the real carbon fiber.

TO be clear, the comment about taking a big dump to even out the additional weight! :like:
