Oil pump in transmission is destroyed...need help

...a few months back, my tq converter shit itself so I ordered a Circle D 4c with a 3800 stall to replace the stock one. Well, looks like the oil pump in my transmission destroyed itself. New one will be forthcoming but what else is needed to make this thing a bit more bullet proof? Oil pump gears, what? Any advice would be appreciated.
