Please explain the logic as to why I need OPG & CS on my brand new 19 GT with a Roush Stage 1 SC. I’m not going to track or drag race the car, just want to scare old ladies & little children (and maybe pucker up as well). Does reliability and durability go up with this mod?

Some say it’s necessary personally I don’t think they are. As long as your not laying the limiter and beating the shit out of it you will be ok. I’ve had no issues being boosted with stock opgs

You don’t need it for how your driving it and your power levels.

From what I read and heard rpms above 7,500 and 700 hp+ is not a good idea without the up grade, it's a roll of the dice either way. Personally I'm going with the edlebrock 2600 and eventually a bap and lund tune and I'm not upgrading the opg or sprocket. With that said I dont plan on spinning the engine above 7,250 rpms.

Irrelevant if you purchased the Roush warranty anyways.

No need for them if you stay off rev limiter and keep stock damper. Ones that break are revs to 8k plus and hit limiter over and over or put a band aid upgraded damper which makes them break

Ford said a few years ago that harmonics are what breaks them and that the right damper will address the root cause (harmonics) not just the symptom (broken opg). Ford upgraded the 2018+ with a factory viscous damper. I haven’t seen anyone post here about a 2018+ that broke the opg. There’s been one that failed on a 2018 f-150 but the truck did not get the viscous damper.

Ford went back to the 11-14 opg “size” on the 2018+ F150s

You probably don’t need them at your level just an FYI

You don't need them with the stock Roush tune. Id rethink that. if down the road. You change your mind. And start chasing horsepower.

I put them in just so if I want to thrash it to 8,000+ I won't have it in the back of my mind "I hope the oil pump doesn't take a shit".

Yeah the peace of mind is nice. I also tend to get excited and bang it off the rev limiter a lot. Now I just hope my crank doesn't snap from that pesky ATI balancer.

We've owned and raced 4 coyote cars over the years. All of them were supercharged and beaten on. We never had an issue with any of them breaking an OPG or sprocket. We even ran the N2MB WOT box on several of them which is supposedly asking for trouble. But again never had an issue.

On our 2018 however we took another stance and decided to do the Boundary combo as a precautionary measure. Better safe then sorry they say and for the price of the combo these days at $298 shipped it's hard to not want to do them for peace of mind.

We tell our customers the same thing and typically do recommend them for any forced induction setup. Better to disclose that a failure can happen then not mention it and something happen down the road.

If there's anything you guys need please feel free to give us a shout. We're always here to help.
