Just making a poll to see who’s done ‘em with a centri blower (ESS, Paxton, Vortech)

It’s cheap insurance at $300 so I’m probably just going to as I’m shooting for 700whp as a daily.

Although I have seen many people not install them and are still good (for now).

There have been enough issues with bad aftermarket gears you really should tear down and inspect them after 10K miles. Sooner if you track or drag race.

Yes, but use the GT500 or the ford performance OP gears. I don't trust the aftermarket companies. It's a good idea with anything that's loading the crankshaft snout more than stock (turbos are the only exception).

^^^^ Agree with this 100%.

Here’s some threads that contain factual OPG info, take time to read them, because not all OPGs are the same and yes there have been reported failures with some aftermarket OPG’s too. Just because there is an aftermarket OPG, doesn’t mean it’s better.

If you’re going to attemp OPG/timing yourself, or get a shop to do it, here’s important notes so check the below threads before jumping in without knowledge:

Looks like the Ford Performance gear sets are not available anywhere currently.

I ran my car without opgs for 15k and no issues (at least from opgs) I'm having my engine built by rpg and asked them what gears to go with and they recommended boundry black series vane ported so that's what I bought, only option I didn't get was the billet back plate, I ordered it assembled, I'll probably just do oil tests a couple times a year I don't plan on checking on them ever.
