Hey guys have a 2017 gt350 wth 500 miles. Did not do an oil change yet and oil level on the dip stick is right under the top hole so levels are good. Mine is an August of 2017 build so my filter is not the canister of that makes a difference.

I wanted to know what the oil pressure should be at idle and fully warmed up with oil temp at 200 degrees. My pressure at idle shows a hair less than right between the 25 and 50 mark on the gauge so im probably reading about 35. I've done some searching and most people say it should be 50 at idle and I've only seen one other post where someone said around 30 when fully warmed up. Is 35 about right or is it something I should have checked out by the dealership?

That is about right, as long as you are seeing about 120 cold and 80 - 90 revved up hot, you are the same as every else. You will notice a slight variance after an oil change going from old oil to new oil. In cooler weather the lowest pressure you will tend to see is 50 - 60 psi at idle when the oil won't get more than 180 degrees. But it is a very noticeable difference in idle pressure when the oil temp gets above 200 degrees.

Haven't tried to gage my accurately at hot idle but it's definitely below 50 psi. From memory 35 psi is probably about where mine sits too. That's plenty of pressure for idle. If it can't survive with that it's got problems.

If you have a August of 2017 build date iyou woudl have a canister oil filter. The canister replaced the spin-on filter and made its debut in February of 2017 if I recall.

We had a warm day here recently (~ 85 degrees) and I actualy wrote it down:

Oil Temp 210 degrees
Idling: ~35 to 40 psi
3K RPM ~85 psi

Oil pressures on this car run High. All warmed up at been in the mid-80s as far as PSI. I've seen temperatures as high as 246 when flogging it. That's in Florida on a 90 degree day with air Inlet temperatures probably in the 140 s

Lot of confusion what constitutes a Canister vs a Cartridge filter. The old style steel spin on is a Canister filter. The newer Pleated media and plastic filters that go into a permanent housing are Cartridge.

Fully warmed up oil pressure on my brand new 200 mile engine is around 35-40psi at idle. Cold start oil pressure (up to around 180 degrees or so) at idle is around 50psi.

The oil pressure gauge is useless. If your car is running and it says "0" then you need a new motor, aside from that the range varies greatly from 30-120 depending on conditions...
