Tracked the oil that my JLT 3.0 catch can had in it as I checked it periodically across an entire oil change interval. The car is daily driven at 73,000 miles and very often sees highly spirited driving and 7500-7600 rpm. The oil is 5w-30 Pennzoil Ultra Platinum, but I haven’t noticed any real oil burning difference from the few other brands I’ve used before.

Mods: 1320junkie ported 18+ IM, 18+ factory CAI, ARH catless headers, JLT 3.0 catch cans driver and passenger side

As far as the dipstick level, I've never really noticed it drop much from where it sits initially. Maybe a couple millimeters down. Based on what I’ve seen from other owners, it appears like I might be one of the lucky ones.

Oil burning through the rings and oil burned through the PCV system are 2 completely different things.

I assume since you're talking about catch-can contents you're talking about the latter. From what I've seen on here and personally, there isn't that much oil to be caught in the catch-can so yours seems normal.

How many miles between oil changes to get that much oil in the catch can?

Im aware. I should've also included that throughout the interval, the oil level as a whole doesn't drop by any noticeable amount. Maybe a couple millimeters down from where it initially sits.

Depends on how much my foot is in it lol. I mostly go off of the oil life meter since it factors in how hard it gets driven. But I'd guess around 3000-4000 miles

you need to monitor the dipstick if you wanna know how much is being burned.

Catch cans contain more than oil, especially as it gets cold.

Like I said at the top, only a couple millimeters down on the stick

Mine burns close to a quart maybe a bit more between oil changes. 5000-5500 miles or once a year when I change it.

Mine's always been a burner, but only if I'm really ripping on it often. It burns a quart somewhere between 2000 and 3000 miles typically. Not too terrible.

Mines actually been pretty solid as well. At one point I thought I had a consumption issue, but I was being over analytical. Over a 4-5k mile OCI interval I may have to add 1/2 a quart. I have tried multiple different brands and it’s usually always the same end results.

In my first 6k owning the car, 9400-15400. I added about 1/2 a qt. Its almost at 25% oil life left.

Edit: Scratch that, I have added a whole qt in 6k miles, mobil 5w-30.
