Random question. Does motor oil have a certain amount of wax in it like diesel fuel? I've always wondered if the white substance in the catch can is wax. Any thoughts?
I am not sure about today's oils but many years ago I do know that quaker state oil was made from a paraffin base crude oil, so it was wax based and notorious for causing heavy sludge in motors that did not change oil every 3K religiously. I know because I rebuilt many a motor back in the 70s and 80s that used it and had to scrape it out of the motor like you would tar.

Is there an S550 oil catch can that is designed to drain back into the oil pan so that the user never has to open it to drain it?
Could be wrong...but doesn't the GT500 OCC do this, just into the valve cover?
