Yes it works on DOHC, it's been done for close to 10 years now.

On my old 2017 hemi ram to defeat the deactivation, all you had to do was put it in manual shift mode and put it in 8th gear.It would shift through all the gears still and keep it from activating.

I get 21.3mpg from both my Coyote3 and LT4. And 23.5 from the EB2.3.
If Ford wants to find efficiencies they should work on sliding cams instead.

When my 2.3L Mustang was sick I could hit 42MPG on my drives to El Paso TX from Phx AZ. It's all gone to hell now with FBO, big turbo & Methanol though lol.
