This morning was perfect example. A new 500 was listed yesterday. I contacted immediately. Got email early this morning saying its avail. I asked to put money down. Hour later another employee says its sold already.... before they open up. This has happened a hand full of times. How they sell it from late last night to early this morning. Maybe someone had dibs and they not communicating. Its 1000 miles away, so did dodge the logistics headache of shipping.

Voice of experience here: call more dealers while waiting on them to get back to you. Will take forever if you wait to be disappointed by each individual dealer one at a time.
Very true. Hardest part about DMV area is you know we have to go outside area to get MSRP.

Get something to tide you over for 12-18 months then get a GT500 once demand has died down and you can get one for MSRP or less. Ford has already stated this will not be a one year car.

It will be as many as they can crank out.

C8 will start shipping in March and Z06 will likely be 2021. Only so many buyers out there for $70-100K+ American cars, Look at the GT350/R. Dealers can’t give the 19’s away right now because most of the people who wanted one own one, GT500 will be similar.

It's time to order! I am officially in the market for a GT500 if I can order exactly what I want and not pay above MSRP. If anyone knows of a dealer who can help me within 500 miles of Nashville or Knoxville please drop me a PM.
Its a long shot I know, but if I fail there is always a 2019 Z06 (which are being discounted heavily) or I can order a C8.

Don't hate me for liking Corvettes. The GT500 is my first choice.
Welp, good luck with that. I sense a Corvette in your future.

Seen this posted today, look like they are limited on cranking them out this year anyway.

At this stage the only way your going to get a GT500 IMO is either you have to call nearly every dealership in the 48 states and hope and wish they have one coming in that was already built, or not accounted for, OR you better have an ace in your sleeve and know someone, short of that and based on the quote below this one, you have nearly 0 chance. I was lucky, I ordered mine Nov, thankfully I knew someone who knew someone who knew someone who told me they'd allot me one and where to go to order it. And if your looking for a CFTP read the screenshot below, thankfully I didnt want a CFTP.

2016 Shelby GT350, 2017 Ford Focus ST, On Order 2020 CTFP Shelby GT 500 with POTTS. Car is released and awaiting shipment. I am running out of time before having to leave for Japan on July 29th.
It took me $15K over and 1,300 miles away from home to order one with an eight or nine month wait. My car is still sitting as unscheduled clean. It was harder for me to get an allocation in comparison to when I bought my GT 350 in 2016. Granted this is for a CTFP car and I didn't try to get an "R" in 2016 but still harder than I thought.

This.

I'm thinking a couple years. By then any chinks in the armor with these will be well known, and an under list deal will be easily made.

I also paid $15k over for a CFTP car but was able to secure it locally. They have 1 more base car allocation left as of last Friday.

I think you will be able to find a used base in a couple years under MSRP but with how sought after the CFTP cars are, I don’t think that’s going to happen especially since most people are paying ADMs.
