That's exactly what I was afraid of. The dealers in my area will do the same dang thing. They just rip people off.

So I just got off the phone with a salesman at one of the top Mustang dealers in the nation (as they should be able to order the limited edition). He said that his dealership is creating a list and to get on the list it will take a $2K deposit and the car will be marked up $10K from the MSRP. I could have jumped on the top of the list but when I heard the $10K markup, I politely declined and said I'll just special order a GT. I hadn't read anyone mention how much the markup was going to be so I thought I would share what I had been told.
Over heard a Ford rep at the Charlotte show saying he wouldn't be surprised to see these with dealer markups going close to $60k :eyebulge::eyebulge:

Having seen the car, in my opinion it pulls off the faux gas cap beautifully. It made the plane "GT" on the silver car look just a little dull :)
I agree the cap is done very tastefully.

Do we have confirmation yet of whether the faux gas cap will be offered on the 50th anniversary package? I believe we have seen prototypes of it on different colored cars so I would assume so.

As someone who HATES the Faux Gas Cap of the present gen, and I'm sorry for sounding like a broken record on that, the Faux GC on this special edition is actually growing on me a bit. Looks sharp on the Kona Blue.

I think a dealer in the pricing thread in main forum is saying the package includes the Faux GC, wheels and interior maybe? Definitely claims it includes the FGC.

Kona Blue 50th looks yummy....and I'm NOT a Kona Blue fan in the older S197 body style. Looks great though on this new S550.

I just told my dealership i would take one of their two at sticker. No dealer mark up. They agreed. White with auto for me (it will be my daily driver and will get a supercharger, collectors be damned lol)

I know the s550 still has a B pillar but it's too bad the first louver of the DLO is so thick and black. If they could just get to be completely transparent and thinner that would have been perfect.

It still looks good and I know there was probably no way around it but I can't help but be distracted by that dark pillar when the rest of it is so clean. Ah well I know... first world problems :)
