No mention of the the GT350/GT500 sharing the same block and other components?

Ford should have refreshed the exterior of the GT350 when they refreshed the standard model. How is that the standard Mustang has superior LED headlights over the GT350. The GT350 looks dated to me now. The GT500 as well.
I can assure you that when its sitting in your garage it does not look dated.

There’s some truth to the “if it ain’t broke don’t fix it argument” here.

BUT, little additions to the interior, like the digital dash for example, would have been an inexpensive proposition for Ford to include in the upgrade.

If the brakes would have been upgraded you would have read about that, that’s a big recipe in the 350’s sauce so they would have bragged about it.

5K for a couple of suspension parts is ridiculous. If I can’t get a new 2019 in the color combo I’m looking for then I’m done tracking one of these damn cars down.

Between the motor issues and the ADM it’s been 3 years of hunting. Guess it wasn’t meant to be.
Digital dash, barf. Those age horribly in 5-7 years time. Go look at a average digital dash or gps those years ago today and it’s horrid.

The only way for bigger brakes on a 350 is bigger wheels like the 500 has. The caliper is damn close, probably too close given the pebbles getting stuck between the barrel and caliper as is.

The 500s wing looks like a horrible afterthought to me.

There’s still hasn’t been any mention in any of those articles about the exact amount of the increase.

Where did that 5K figure come from ?

I read the same thing on SVTP from a Ford media release. It sounds good to me,

I'm convinced I stole my 18 R now.
Yep! I'm sure many '18- '19 R owners are feeling quite smug and VERY satisfied !
Incremental improvement to steering feel
that most likely only a dedicated track rat
will truly value & appreciate. For the paltry sum of $5,000....come on!

Wonder how much weight the new block is adding to the front of the car and whether the minor suspension changes are there to offset the heavier feeling nose.

That said, let's face it, the car from the was mis-priced from the get go and was an incredible value. Recouping some of the $5k ADM from the dealers (which has persisted for years) and recognizing the tremendous price/value relationship, Ford, with a car of this caliber, has some pricing power and given the overall health of the company, it's pretty clear they want to extract as much as possible from consumers.

Understand the point about Ford wanting to share in the markup; however, I am guessing that the dealers here in California will continue to add their typical markup. Total cost to the buyer will go up by the $5K.

My money will go somewhere else if I can’t find a 2019.

5K is ridiculous for a new steering rack and the other minor adjustments they made.

For those who are also attributing the increased cost to the use of the GT500 block, I guess that would mean 2019 owners are truly getting a good deal, especially those who purchased at or, dare I say, below MSRP. I wonder how many potential owners are now instead looking for a 2019R versus the 2020R. There seems to be a consistent number of 2019R's being posted in the leads and allocations sticky too. I'm starting to see a decline in the ADM's for 2019 R's so It's only a matter of time before they start coming down to MSRP.

I wonder if this news will make the 2019s more of a hot commodity.

The transmission from the GT500 needs to be offered.

Ewwwwwww.

All joking aside, I know everyone has a preference, manual vs auto.

However, given it is such a low volume vehicle, and was originally designed with a manual, it is not realistic to have both. EPA certs, crash tests, etc. make it too costly.
