This is a really helpful pic for those considering Orange Fury since they are right next to a yellow car. THIS is what the first few pics of Orange Fury hinted it would look like. There have been many indoor pics that made it look way too yellow. Hopefully, the color in this pic is accurate. I was leaning toward magnetic because of the yellow Orange Fury pics, but now ... toss up.

Didn't you know BMW's are the ultimate driving machine? It doesn't matter what their 0-100 is. People that want to enjoy everything except acceleration buy German so they can tell everyone how American cars can't handle. (add sarcastic tone)
Come on. You aren't being any better here. BMWs may not be your thing and, yes, they can be a lot more money, but let's not pretend there aren't quick ones.

I get they don't have the performance value proposition of the GT, but implying they are all slow in a straight line is disingenuous.

And, further, bucketing all German cars as 'slow in a straight line', is absolutely ludicrous.

More interesting than the fact that OF doesn't look completely ugly now that there are okay photos of it in sunlight, that hood line that curves inwards towards the grille actually looks pretty good, too. Not super out of place like some would say, I think everyone just has to accept that Ford is getting a lot more aggressive as far as styling changes go from here on out.

Kona blue is still the best though , but I'm still not convinced it's identical to the Kona blue of the S197 era, looks like a median between DIB and Kona?

Aggressive does not necessarily mean attractive.
That front end just does not flow well.

If they were going for more aggressive,
they should have changed all of it.

I think you will change your mind when you see one on the road. This design makes the front of the S550 look boxy and rather tame in comparison (which says a lot considering that the 1st gen S550 makes the 13-14 S197 look like a 15 year old design)

The new one does not look more aggressive to me. It just looks like a mess of angles with no flow. The original S550 has a look that will age far better and is by no means "boxy". this isn't and S197.

Those stupid fangs sticking way out the front will never look good.
They stuck out some on current 550, but not dumb looking....
What are they a good 6" forward of the bumper now?

Thank you for sharing that...and the color absolutely looks better here than in any picture I've seen so far. While I'd never get a vinyl stripe like that, I have to say that it really sets off the OF paint.

So this is OBVIOUSLY not the same color but I can't help but notice that the first refresh (and probably only refresh) of the S550 is being kicked off with a paint in a similar "color neighborhood" to the S197 refresh. These unusual colors seem to emphasize that there's something new going on.

It also reminds me of the 2000 Miata color Evolution Orange Metallic...which was likely supplanted as the "impact color" due to the Miata's 10AE blue.

Yet everyone thinks the massively over-exageratted plastic fangs sticking out of the GT350 look ideal?

Anyway, you're comparing a PP 2018 to a non-PP 15-17. The chin sticks out significantly on PP cars, the actual difference between the 15-17 and 18+ is minimal

You guys are all so salty, I love it.

Even on PP, the whole thing sticks out farther and while not my
favorite, does not look downright stupid.

I'm still not completely sold on the new design but I'll have to wait to see it in person. I do like the little details Ford put in this redesign to try and tie everything together.

For example, the angles of center post in the spoiler matches the reverse light angles, the Front DRLs shape match the tail lights, the mold where the license plate sits matches the shape of the front bumper grill opening and they even made the front grill high gloss (which i'm not a fan of) the same as the rear panel. Hell, even the outside corners of the mirrors are similar to the outside corners of the tail lights of you look at the rear shots of the car.

Like I said, I'm still on the fence about the whole look but I can appreciate the attention to detail Ford designers took to try and sync up the design language across all areas of the car. Its tied together much more so than the current design.

To be fair the orange angled photo above does not look too bad, probably best one ive seen of the 18, it's when you get the angle wrong or a front end shot it falls apart. Also the rear spoiler looks like something you'd fit to an old Ford Escort. With the 15 and 05 it immediately looked great but with the 18 you need to find the right angle it seems!
