Has anyone gone through with painting, powder coating or plasri dipping the OEM wheels in a color close to the original 67 Bullitt Torque Thrust wheels?

I picked up a can of gunmetal grey and metalizer from Plasti Dip at Pep Boys today. If I like the result, I'm gonna get the wheels painted in a Ford code paint that closely resembles the American Racing wheels.

Been wanting to do this with a set...not my set as I don't plan on keeping the car forever (don't like plasti-dip) would want to pick up another set of stock wheels and have them refinished. I would probably get them polished and powder cleared.

I'm not crazy about plasti dip either, I just wanna see how it looks. And I could never afford a set of Steve McQueen edition Steeda wheels.

My "dream" wheels that I could never afford would be custom American Muscle torq thrust 19" wheels. 1000$ per wheel.

Same here. I would go as far as buying as set of Carol Shelby CS-11, if they were available in 19" I don't want a lower aspect ratio tire than the stock.

https://carrollshelbywheels.com/product/cs-11
you and I have the same sentiments here. There are 0 wheels that "fit" the look of this car that are available in 19" unless you get into the "custom" wheel territory which means $800+ Per wheel, which is a lot of money just for wheels.

realistically a set of 4 stock wheels can be had for around the same amount of a set of aftermarket wheels with some hunting, so I may go down that path one day!

Weather has been uncooperative as well as the power company... priorities are a little different right now. 🥶
