As I start out in first gear and starting to move I hear the small-rock-hitting-glass like sound. Really there is nothing hitting windshield but I get this sound occasionally, not every day.

Anyone had this problem? My GT has 1150 miles and recently purchased. Front windshield install looks great with even space all around metal frame. Just can't figure out where the sound is coming from.

Do you have the small 3 inch. display? Not the higher end 8 inch. performance dash?

OK, I'll have to pay attention to my 8 inch SYNC3 screen.

Hear similar sounds sometimes. 16 GT base. From the dash due to hear expansion. Not to mention the tires sling ANYTHING they find.

I get the sound of a rock hitting the roof. At least it sounds like it's coming from there. My car's new too and didn't notice it until the summer heated up so I just figured it's thermal expansion. No other car I've owned did this though.

I hope it's not body flex with these, what with the windshields being attached without any weatherstripping around them.

Happens to me. I notice usually on hot days while blasting the a/c a minute or 2 after starting the engine. 2017 GTPP premium.

I have had that loud snap/pop/ on occasion but only once per driving session when it does happen, never more.
Mine seems to come from the rear cabin roof or rear window area, might be a stress point due to how well the shell was assembled,
or slightly incorrect panel fitment.?
And it does seem to occur more often when the car has been parked in the HOT Florida sun for a while.
It has recently been occurring less frequently, at 9,000 miles and being over 5 months old it may be reaching a settling in point.
If anyone actually figures it out I'd sure like to know.

....what with the windshields being attached without any weatherstripping around them.
Are there any newer (last 5 years or so) vehicles that have "weatherstripping" around the windshield?

I haven't looked specifically, but I'm pretty sure that died years ago.

I get the same noise in my 2015. Never can quite pinpoint where it comes from.

It's the plastics contracting when you turn the A/C on, on a hot day. Or expanding when you put the heat on, on a cold day.
