I haven't run the NT05R's, but they get pretty poor reviews. From what I've read from people that have actually run both, the R2 is a far superior tire. I'm personally running the 555R2's(305/30/20) on my mt82 Whipple car and they absolutely rock. My car makes around 850rwhp. 2nd gear will always hook up if its 60*+ out and on hot sunny days the damn thing will damn near hook first gear.
I put in an order for the 555R2’s, and if I didn’t already, well you just sold them on me again. That’s what I like to hear!

Any reason why? Will I hook?
You will hook better if you go with a 15" or 17" drag pack wheel with the 555rii. Like the forgestar f14's drag pack. Pretty inexpensive. That was the route I was looking at going with the same tire.

Didn’t want to look the part, especially in my area being in Canada, they are cracking down on street racers, so having a drag pack would not get me on their good side. At least if i’m on a radial, it’s less obvious, I understand I wouldn’t hook as good, but hey, i’ll take what I can get

you will hook prett well. I hooked on a 20” with the all nannies off at about 600rwhp with toyos and they’re about the same compound. Dead hooked. Get too high and you won’t hook without more sidewall.

Yeah I hear you. Honestly, with a stage 2 whipple making around 750whp on the stock tune with pump 94, i’ll be one of the baddest MF’ers in the area. Can’t wait till it’s here in July!

It’s okay, I don’t do digs. Rolls only babyyyyyyy
You'll be good with good warm temps (above 70) then. Too cold and nothing hooks.

Yeah of course - I’d only be doing rolls when it’s ideal. Other than that, it’s just nice to have that power.

If you're lowered and trying to run a 315 35 20, you might run into rubbing issues. I am.
