No driving a manual does not make you smarter, more skilled, a better driver or more of a car guy.

My girl spontaneously orgasmed watching me drive a manual one time. She said she couldn’t even help it. It was too much man.
I know this is in jest - but I do have to say that my woman is a rare breed, and she does actually get hot watching me do anything that takes skill that not a lot of others have. For instance: I’m a scientist and she often wants me to tell her about the math/science I’m working on in the bedroom… and it really does, erm, “work her up”.

She had never been in a manual until I bought my Mustang (we met when I was between manuals)… and she really does actually get turned on watching me work the car.

I’m not at all saying that this is normal, or widespread. I’m not saying anything about anything other than: I can report one concrete experience where a woman REALLY is turned on!

Not a joke, and not meant to say anything about anyone driving an auto!

Better turn that air cooled seat button on and put some microfiber rags on her seat next time you get her all warmed up.

I don’t want any messes in my car. Lol

If you have one like this: I recommend keeping her. I’m marrying mine next January!
lol, yeah I'm marrying mine in 2022 also. And she rows gears... Tested all the cars I test drove that were stick. Including a 14' gt500

I can drive a manual have for 30 years. And what you are saying is not the context in which its meant in car meets.
I think you have to take it all in the context of it being said at a car meet. Talking a little smack, as it were. Not worth taking seriously.

They are saying the fact that they drive a manual makes them a better driver. Being able to drive more vehicles does not make you a better driver it just means you can drive a variety of vehicles. Just because you can drive a larger variety of cars and trucks does not make you a good driver.
Actually, that would be one definition of being a more widely capable driver. Less limited (hey, I won't even pretend to myself that I'd be able to drive my son's 13-speed Kenworth very well).

Just like owning 30 guns of all types and the fact you can shoot 30 guns of all types does not mean you are a good shot.
I don't think that's a very good analogy, except for the part where being comfortable handling a wider variety of firearm types perhaps indicating that you're more responsible as a shooter (regardless of how good a shot you might or might not be).

Yes it does though, lol. Its inherently more work and skill to drive a manual car well. Autos are so easy these days. Obviously it doesn't make you a better person or more of a "man", but you are factually doing more.

I daily an auto but for a fun car, manual takes it to the next level for me. I've had a nice dual clutch but it's just boring, lol. On track it wouldn't be, but how much of our driving time do we spend on track? .01%? I wanna have fun as often as possible and just smashing the go pedal down isn't enough.
Well said.

As much money as cars go for, I damn well better be able to get as much enjoyment out of it as I can.

actually it works the other way around as well. I had driven manuals so long that when I got the auto it took me a few weeks to get use to it cause I had not driven autos in forever at least not sports performance autos.
I know where you were coming from. Being required to depress the brake pedal just to get the damn thing out of 'Park' is something I almost never get right on the first shot. There are other little annoyances about driving an automatic that don't exist with a MT.

This thread is brought to you by The Manual Man. Are you confident, calm, cool, and collected? Then you just might be The Manual Man. Do you value skill and versatility over raw performance? So too does The Manual Man. Are you kept awake at night worrying that some undesirable might try to operate your vehicle? Of course not! That's because you are...The Manual Man.
Talk about some word porn. You may have impregnated some of our lady readers. I know I need a cigarette and beer after reading this.

I’ve never heard an auto boy say this
I have 3 cars. and drive many more. I steal the cars that manual dummies leave unlocked thinking no one else can drive them. opps shouldn't have said that.

Car meets meh..... It's the same circle jerkers who show up with the same cars every week. Most of them only drive the cars to and from them too you never see them anywhere else. Not for me!
