Saturday 7/30 Hearst Castle Tour

There has been interest in going to Hearst Castle on Saturday 7/30. If we do want to do this it is highly recommended we buy tickets ahead of time as I hear they sell out especially if we have a group that wants to go together. I have never been there so maybe someone who has will want to take the lead on this? The tours are $25 + $3.50 fee and we will need reservations. I was looking at the tours and the Upstairs Tour Suites looked good to me. Its available at various times from 9:00 am - 5:00 pm. I was thinking sometime around 1:00 pm which would give us time to sleep in Saturday have a lat breakfast then go to the Tour and still leave some time to cruise some local mountains afterwards before dinner and an early night to bed for the big cruise day on Sunday?

I am planning on driving down Sat. in enough time to check in and tour the Castle with my girlfriend. I am going to plug it in to my GPS this Sat morning to get a good estimate on the drive time. I would be happy to do the tour with a group, but I will have to get back to you on the timing... Either way, and whatever tour we decide to do, I want to buy the tickets by Monday 7/18. My girl loves cars, but this is the main thing she is excited about :-)

My fathers and I (and brother and mom) will be leaving Friday from LA. Whatever the "main" drive once there is, we are down. We have turned it into a bit of a free flowing family vacation, so we may stop in SLO (my college stomping grounds) for lunch Friday, may not be a part of all events, but we are more than down to cruise up from LA with everyone and have a great ol mustang time while there! We are easy going, and have no solid plans. We will structure our vacation around whatever the group plans are

Sounds great! Really all the weekend events are to offer thinks for people to do if they want or of course everyone is free to do what they like after all it's everyone's own vacation time :cheers:

So then I take it you will be meeting out us the Starbucks on Ventura and Canoga between 9:30 -. 10:00am and then driving up with us? With the exception you may break off at SLO for lunch. We are working on a tour of the Hearst Castle on Satuday afternoon once I have that info I'll let you know for sure. Then of coursill have more details on the main cruise on Sunday for everyone.
