I could have sworn in the manual that warranty was no nice if the car saw track. I'll take a look again.
I already did. The GT350 manual supplement states:

We do not recommend modifying or racing
(for competition or time) Ford
Performance vehicles, as they are designed
and built to be driven as delivered from the
factory.
The warranty information
discusses vehicle usage and the
installation of aftermarket parts and their
effect on warranty coverage.
Additionally, perform multi-point
inspection and the maintenance outlined
in the 150000 mile (240000 kilometer)
normal maintenance schedule of the
scheduled maintenance before and after
track use. See the vehicle service manual
for removal and installation procedures.
Replace with Genuine Ford and
Motorcraft® service parts as needed.
Subjecting your vehicle to competition
conditions may render repairs
non-reimbursable under the warranty.

The GT500 has the same conditions but they add the following exclusion:
What is Not Covered Under the
New Vehicle Limited Warranty?

Damage caused by:
• Abuse, competition, racing, track use
or other events.
• Accidents, collision or objects striking
the vehicle (including driving through
a car wash).
• Theft, vandalism or riot.
• Fire or explosion.
• Using contaminated or improper
fuel/fluids.
• Customer-applied chemicals or
accidental spills.
• Driving through water deep enough to
cause water to be ingested into any
component, for example powertrain
components.
• Misuse of the vehicle, such as driving
over curbs, overloading or using the
vehicle as a permanent stationary
power source.

BOTH gt350 and gt500 supplements have this language for 2020, it's not just a gt500 thing... prior to 2020 though the supplements didn't have the exclusion language.

So the 2020 has the same exclusion? I was looking at '18 for the 350.

Sure enough, that is correct. I downloaded the manual for the 2020 GT350. Why the departure from the norm?

Big yikes.

What's GM's policy on cars like the 1LE's? Dodge with the Hellcats and drag strips?

We need more seedy politicians, ambulance chasing lawyers and frivolous lawsuits to protect us from ourselves. That way we could simply stop functioning as a society and not be able to get anything done. We're almost there. Rock bottom is just an arm's length away...

Seriously, I'm surprised the manual isn't more restrictive than it is. The key phrase used is damage caused by and I can relate to Ford's use of it here. My obscure recommendation or workaround? Be careful, cautious and smart about everything you do. When you see an opportunity, take advantage. And when shit doesn't go as planned, figure out a way. There is always a way.
Well said .....

GM, at least, used to be very clear it was covered:

The folks at Motor Authority recently sat down with Camaro Chief Engineer Al Oppenheiser and spoke with him about the on-track warranty coverage for the 2016 Camaro. If you have a 2016 Camaro SS and you want to hit up the local drag strip or road course for test-n-tune or open track days, any mechanical failures which occur on the track are covered under warranty.
But most of the articles from are from like 3 years ago.

Also, and that is my experience from running an open-track racing club in California for many years and still doing 15+ track days a year, you have way more Mustang/Shelby than Camaro on track. Maybe 10 to 1 ratio

for what it's worth, I think they always had an "out" anyway, they reference the actual warranty and that language is for sure in the normal warranty so even though the supplement didn't have it, it was always applicable IF they wanted it to be.

I don’t know about GM I know the hellcats are not covered for drag racing. Only the demon and scat pack 1320 have drag racing warranties. Dodge will cover any parts broken on those cars so long as they remain stock. That being said hellcats that drag race have been covered under warranty, I think it’s kind of hit or miss but yes only the demon and 1320 are covered 100% no matter what drag racing you do.
