I'm disliking certain aspects of late-model performance cars more and more as we go.....

Thanks for the extra info, Jason, I was unaware of such an option from Detroit. But, me thinks that the option simply means they make the data visible to you while without the option it would not be available...to you...but is almost certainly available to the manufacturer via their diagnostic hardware and software.

I like to disassemble things.
There was no "misprint."

Such a blurry line here. Dragstrip considered track? Probably by Ford. Even though it has a dragstrip mode, and a track mode. And the launch of the car was 1/3 strip, 1/3 track, 1/3 street driving.

I am speaking with Ford customer care now. I am being passed around like a hot potato. I wish FP would step up and answer the question.

I'm on hold again. I'll pass along what I find out.

Reminds me of the episode of 2 1/2 men and charlie sheen calling about the seagulls.

I was passed along to several representatives and finally told to call Ford racing. I didn't recognize the number, but when it answered, I got Ford Performance. I was directed to chat or email.

I emailed Noah this time, so maybe I will hear something back.

On a side note, my wife, who is a lawyer reviewed the warranty and thought that you probably would be covered, but due to the exclusion, she thought that it certainly would be a fight.

I mean it is in writing, it wasn't a mistake and likely is an escape avenue they can use when the situation presents itself. Lets hope they don't use it as binary solution anytime a problem arises. I still think Ford and dealers will use there discretion on when to 'dig' for details. Lets face it there are lying , cheating, manipulative people in this world that abuse and destroy cars and expect Ford to fix them. You can't blame Ford and I would probably do the same thing if I were them.

Hey, @ephiphany, do you have anthony's email over at FP? If I don't hear back from Kyle or Noah, I will try Ford legal. If that strikes out, I will text Jim Owens.

I understand. I am trying to give Ford the benefit of the doubt. We spent a lot of money on a car that was designed, built, and marketed as a track car. The GT350 didn't have this exclusion......

So lets see what FP has to say.

Yep, it would be. And certainly that is a timed event.

Not trying to be argumentative but what do you seriously expect?
It’s not a misprint, and as someone said before, Ford has decided that their track related warranty expenses were too high
What do you think that FP can say or do about it ? Nothing
Frankly when I got my 17 for track duties, I couldn’t believe that I can blow the engine and have Ford pay for it.....
I know that some manufacturers/models do cover track use
As a long time racer I’m really used to be the only one financially liable for any expenses, even when someone else T-bone you and is 100% at faults
And yes, the 500 was marketed as a track car, that only imply that it is track-capable, not that the warranty cover what happens there..
Do that suck and Ford kind of playing a game.. sure but as the old saying goes: Caveat emptor
