Ok so I am in a situation where one of my tires got some severe damage and I need to get another set of tires asap. I had decided a long time ago that when my Indy Firehawks wore out that I would get a Nitto NT555Rii (rear) NT555G2 (front) combo. However, can't find any NT555Rii anywhere and everyone so far says that it will be weeks before they have them in stock.
Unfortunately, I can't wait for the Rii's to come back in stock- Would I be miserable with NT555G2 on the back? Or should I get another set of Firehawks?

Other pertinent information:
I have a Gen 5 stage 2 Whipple
I do not drag race
These tires are for DD only- I have NT101 for HPDE events
I do drive in the Central Texas rainstorms and have had very few (if any) issues with the Firehawks in rain
I don't drive in the snow or ice but there are a few days a year where it is below freezing (not including that freak storm that Texas had last February)

Would the Toyo R888 be an option? Your signature indicates 305 square, 18" but not sure if you're looking for another size.
oh sorry-
My daily setup is on Velgen 20" wheels staggered with 305 in the back and 275 in the front.

Ditch those Nittos and get Michelin PS4S, Conti EC Sport or Indy 500s for a cheap option. Honestly with that kind of power the PS4S might be your best option.

I concur with the previous poster. Kind of in the same situation myself. I have the G2's now. They were fine on my NA GT but with the blower, they are not suitable.

As a daily driver in Florida. The G2s are not bad if its warm and sunny. Anything other than that is just asking for trouble. They broke loose in 5th the other day. Was not even raining, or standing water. The road was just a little damp. To give you an idea.

I am getting the Conti's mounted as soon as I get some free time.

You didn't say what your aspect was but American Tire Depot seems to have them. I haven't called and I don't know if the ship. I have used them before. I have the NT555 G2's in this size on the rear.

Thanks, I will check them out. And yes, I was looking for 305/30/20.
I talked with Discount Tire yesterday and they called Nitto and called me back. According to them, Nitto has zero in stock and it is currently not in the production schedule. They usually create their production schedule 3-6 months in advance so anyone looking for this tire can expect a pretty big delay.

I'd keep looking to find the RII's.
