Called Lund and they can’t even unlock them if they lock up on you for whatever reason! Buyer be ware.
So thrilled to have dropped ~$800 on one with a flex tune late last summer, knowing I'm fucked now if something goes haywire..... :curse:

I'm just gonna ride mine, once a new solution is out from Lund or PBD, I will reflash stock and then install the new solution. :fingerscrossed:

What if it goes out and you can't reflash stock?
Hence the fingers crossed emoji...

I guess I could go ahead and order the SCTX4 from PBD or whatever and swap now.

Does anyone know if other hptuners devices can load the stock file extracted with the ngauge? My hope is yes. Like sct, different devices give different features but share file formats. If this is the case we have an escape if something goes wrong.

devices go obsolete all the time with limited to no support. It is assurance of a migration path that is my concern.

I'm back and forth with Lund right now, trying to decide my next move. The SCT X4 is cool, but way to damn big...

The files are on the media card in the nGauge, and backed up on my cloud account, just need to know if they can be read by other devices.

Can it interact with a digital device for added gauges, or strictly for loading files?

It can run the scanner app and now it can sync with an android phone for track apps. I use an X4 for data watching.

According to Lund, they can just send a stock tune for another device they sell. They also expect someone to come out with something of a smaller form factor, due to the popularity of the nGauge. I'm just gonna rock it and not worry about it for now.

Hopefully unless it's encrypted as well on a locked version...I did however pull it down wirh my MPVI2 before i ever started on custom tuning or the Edelbrock tune either...

Interesting. I ordered an nGauge + tune from Lund last night and they didn't mention it being out of stock.

The email is below:

"..., we put this notice on each nGauge product about a week and a half ago, but I want to make sure you understand, this nGauge cannot be unlocked for use on another vehicle. Due to the manufacturer's going out of business, these last few nGauges do not have the ability to be unlocked. If something were to go wrong while using it to flash your vehicle, you would have to purchase another device.

Please let me know if you want to swap the nGauge for an SCT X4 device."

So I might have to go down the SCT route now.

That's kinda of a dick move. They knew it has to go back to e-motion to get unlocked. Shoulda told you before commiting. Are the offering to swap or do they want you to buy a SCT outright?

They haven't shipped anything as yet, so I still have a choice.

Lund (and other tuners) are in a dilemma of sorts. They can sell an nGauge, but the company backing it is no longer around, so no unlocking possible.
I think they are doing the right thing by asking me first.
