Looking at finding a family mover with all the bells and whistles with the safety stuff (blind spot, etc). It will be putting on around 25,000 per year and needs to be reliable. Prefer no SUV.

Right now considering a Hyundai Elantra (loaded and cheap), used IS 250 (reliable), and maybe stretching for a Nissan Juke.

What other solid options are out there?

TIA

Looking for a car, not an SUV?

Volkswagon Jetta
Nisaan Altima
Honda Accord LX

These would hit your price and reliability matrix on the lightly used market.

If you want to go domestic
Ford Fusion
Dodge Charger
Chevy Malibu

If you want to go new the Chevy Cruz is kind of small but is priced around 20k.

Wife drives the new cruze...been a very good car so far. Gas milage is fantastic(40+) rides nice and if you get the LS with the RS package it actually doesn't look bad imho. The car doesn't have the Blind spot stuff but the visibility is very good. Interior is somewhat cheap but eh its a cruze. Been on a number of long distance trips and so far very happy with it.

Toyota >Honda>anything Nissan.

On what planet would someone in their RIGHT mind suggest a damn vw over a Toyota?

Pile of shit German car. Plus their resale value is absolutely garbage. Almost as much as German cars reliability

And the cruze has been a fairly problematic car for Chevy. Especially turbo failures. It requires to replace the whole manifold. Its a one piece design.
