I've always been able to fit what I need under the lower cabs. The work surface is also nice. I have carried an extra set of wheels/tires. I lay them flat between the front of the car and the cabinets. I have two 5 gal Risk Racing motocross fuel jugs mounted at the back corner. I choose those because they are narrow, and I was hoping the car would clear them while driving in. Mustangs are too wide for that scenario, so I have to remove them to load/unload the car.
Also, if you are buying a used trailer, be aware of the date code on the tires. I have never towed enough to wear out a set of tires before they age out. I replace around 6 years.
