New Shelby American GT350

At one point, before the S550 GT500 was a thing, I seriously looked into having Shelby widebody my '15; from there the intent to twin turbo it through Fathouse. In discussions with Shelby, since it wasn't a full Super Snake conversion, it wouldn't have received a CSM number, but still would have been tagged as modified by Shelby American and would still have had a spot in the registry. I don't think you can have a car widebodied now without it being a Super Snake.

This came up in another thread. You can still get the widebody but you’re correct, it has to be paired with another one of their packages in order to be able to get the widebody.

Shelby American has always taken Ford products and done modifications to them. The usual process is that a customer buys a Ford Mustang from a Ford dealer and has Ford deliver it to Shelby. Shelby modifies the customer car based on the customer's order with them.

Ford produced Shelby's are developed outside of the regular Ford engineering group by Ford Performance, a completely separate engineering team responsible for the Ford GT's, the Shelby's and the Ford factory race cars.

Think of it this way: FP starts with a body in white and designs the parts needed to make it into a sports car. Shelby American starts with a street Mustang and adds a bunch of special parts to it.

BUT, Shelby does make the best looking widebody kit for these cars.
